Isla Fisher Talks About Lack Of Comic Roles For Women

Hollywood actress Isla Fisher is known to have starred in movies such as Keeping Up with the Joneses, Now You See Me and Wedding Crashers. The actress made her acting debut with television series Bay Cove. Recently, the 41-year-old actress has stated that there are not many movies which have woman in the lead role.

The ‘Definitely, Maybe’ actress was quoted as saying, “Even today though, there are still not enough female comic roles. There are plenty of eye-rolling women as the male lead makes a joke, but very few are commanding the starring role”. The actress further added, “I remember when Sex and the City started we all thought we were going to get so much more work, but then it went quiet until Bridesmaids”.

The actress closed her statement saying, “Everyone was like, 'OK, now we've really proved that women can be funny,' but sadly it's all died down again”. The actress will be next seen starring in the movie ‘Tag’, which is under post-production. Isla is currently shooting for the movie ‘The Beach Bum’.
