It Was Easy Working With Penelope Cruz In 'Loving Pablo': Javier Bardem

Oscar winner Javier Bardem actor starred along with his wife in the recently released 'Loving Pablo'. This is the first time that the couple starred together in a film. Javier said that he has never been so comfortable before doing the movie.

The movie, directed by Fernando Leon de Aranoa, showed the 48-year-old actor playing the role of drug lord Pablo Escobar, while the 43-year-old actress essayed the role of his mistress. Javier is all praise for his actor wife calling her a great actress. He further said that they challenge each other to go farther and deeper.

"It was easy working with Penelope. She can immediately tell what I'm doing; where I'm going. We know how to play with each other and try different things. All it takes is a little look, or a word here and there. So we pushed each other to be more daring," Bardem says. The Skyfall actor also said that he initially wanted to make the film in Spanish, however, could not do it as he was unable to find financiers.  "I wanted to make a movie about what was on his mind; about his personal side. And I really wanted to make this movie in Spanish. But we tried and tried, and just couldn't find the financing. Then, to move things forward, we decided we would do it in English, with Spanish accents, and we were able to mount the production,” he asserted.
