Zoe Saldana is the mother of twin sons Cy and Bowie thinks that her situation to live in a house full of men is ironic because she grew up surrounded by women. She also said that she was raised to never rely on any men. Zoe Saldana said, “I call it absolute irony and I call it a purpose. It was meant to be that way. There's a lesson that the universe needs me to learn. It's not like I've had issues with men; I've always just been independent to a fault”.

Zoe also added, "For every five opportunities a man has, a woman has only one. Let's create our own opportunities.' What if we don't have to compete with each other”. The Star Trek actress is married to an Italian artist Marco Perego.
