Dallas Buyers Club actor Jared Leto will be playing the role of The Joker in the upcoming highly anticipated film Suicide Squad. The actor has revealed his new look on several occasions and is quite different from what Heath Ledger’s Joker brought to light. Jared talked about his preparation for the role and said that there was a “period of detachment”.

The 43-year-old stated, “There was definitely a period of…detachment. I took a pretty deep dive. But this was a unique opportunity and I couldn’t imagine doing it another way. It was fun, playing those psychological games. But at the same time it was very painful, like giving birth out of my pr*ck hole”. He added, “I always get the sense that The Joker may be much older than people think. It’s something different. If you don’t break rules, you’re not going to strike new ground”.

Jared got into the character so much that he sent a love letter with a live black rat to Margot Robbie who plays Harley Quinn in the film. He sent a bullet to Will Smith who plays the role of Deadshot. Jared used to call Jim Parrack and ask him to spray paint some roses black or fill a backpack with nine inch nails.
