David Ayer’s ‘Suicide Squad’ which released last year in August was quite anticipated until its release, after which, it received mixed reviews. The movie starred Will Smith as Deadshot, Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn, Viola Davis as Amanda Waller, Joel Kinnaman as Rick Flag, along with others. Recently, Joel spoke about the sequel and shared that it will be shot sometime in 2018, which isn’t the final schedule.

The actor revealed that the team is working on the script for the flick and that he will be coming back for it. He also shared that currently, the project does not have a director. Speculation suggested a few names for the director’s chair which included Mel Gibson, Daniel Espinosa, Ruben Fleischer or Jonathan Levine but Kinnaman says he would want David Ayer to return as the helmer.

“Ultimately, I’d love for David Ayer to direct it, but if he doesn’t want to direct it, then [it should be] someone who is great with character and that’s able to ground the story and maybe put these characters in a more normal situation”, the House of Cards actor stated.

Suicide Squad brought in more than $745 million worldwide, which means it was quite successful as it was made on a budget of $175 million.
