John Boyega Talks About Carrie Fisher’s Role In Star Wars: Episode VIII

The eighth episode in the epic Star Wars franchise, ‘Star Wars: The Last Jedi’, will be released on December 15 this year. It will bring back characters introduced in the last part, ‘The Force Awakens’ including John Boyega, Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, Mark Hamill and others. It will also be late Carrie Fisher a.k.a Leia Organa’s last appearance in the franchise.

Recently, John spoke to ABC News’ Popcorn with Peter Travers and shared some details on Carrie’s role, which might be sort of a spoiler for fans so, reader discretion is advised. “We have many scenes in 8, in this one coming up. This movie, it sends her off in an amazing, amazing way. She’s still kept alive in this franchise and that’s the beauty of it. She lives forever in a sense”, the actor shared.

On the subject of upcoming instalments, The Hollywood Reporter has shared that the team for Episode IX has hired a new writer. Jack Thorne of ‘Wonder’ fame has now joined the team and will be working with Colin Trevorrow, who is set to direct the ninth part. On the other hand, Rian Johnson is at the helm of affairs for the eighth part, which is being produced by Ram Bergman and Kathleen Kennedy.
