John Singleton’s Tupac to be distributed by Open Road Films in U.S.

The U.S. distribution rights for John Singleton’s directorial venture, Tupac, have been acquired by Open Road Films, reportedly. Morgan Creek Productions and Emmett/Furla/Oasis Films will jointly produce and sponsor the film.

James G. Robinson, David Robinson, L.T. Hutton, Randall Emmett, George Furla and John Singleton have got on the board to produce the project along with executive producers like Afeni Shakur, Tom Ortenberg and Peter Lawson. Tupac, written by Jeremy Haft & Ed Gonzalez and John Singleton, is a biopic of Tupac Shakur, a rapper and an actor. The life and legacy of Tupac will be shown in the film including the making and unmaking of the star. The film is set to undergo production this summer.
