    Kim Dickens joins AMC's The Walking Dead spinoff series

    Walking Dead spinoff set in Los Angeles has found the actress who will star opposite Cliff Curtis. Kim Dickens, who’s best known to pop culture enthusiasts this year for her role as Gone Girl character Detective Rhonda Boney, the person investigating the disappearance of Amy Dunne, will play the zombie drama spinoff’s female lead.

    According to sources, Dickens had been cast as the female lead in the pilot, which takes place in the same zombie-infested universe as the original series. Cliff Curtis has been tapped as the male lead. Dickens will play a guidance counselor in a relationship with Curtis’s character. Frank Dillane and Alycia Debnam Carey have also been cast. The companion series was created by "Walking Dead" writer Robert Kirkman and Dave Erickson and is set to air on AMC. Adam Davidson is attached to direct the pilot.
