Hot American singer Lady Gaga, a big fan of late British fashion designer Alexander Mcqueen, has reportedly spent a record-breaking $136,400 to buy a dress of the couturier at a charity auction. The dress was one among many designs of Alexander from fashion icon Daphne Guinnesss huge collection which she put up for bidding at Christie's in London. According to reports the Born This Way singer bought a 2008 ivory silk gown, called 'The Girl Who Lived In The Tree', by outbidding rivals via her telephone, Associated Press reported. Thanking Lady Gaga for her noble gesture, Socialite Daphne sent out a special message, which read ''I'm overwhelmed by how many bidders took part ... and I'm particularly moved by Lady GaGa's support for the foundation. I like her very much, and it's lovely to see the nascent beginnings of something that may help other people.'' The auction fetched a total of $747,200 which will be donated to the Isabella Blow Foundation that was set up in the memory of Mcqueen who died in 2010.
