‘Leatherface’ Releasing In October!

Christa Campbell, who is producing the prequel to ‘Texas Chainsaw Massacre’, has revealed that the project titled ‘Leatherface’ will hit theatres in October this year. The long running franchise started back in 1973 with Tobe Hooper’s ‘The Texas Chainsaw Massacre’. The last film in the series came out in 2013 and was titled ‘Texas Chainsaw 3D’.

Alexandre Bustillo and Julien Maury will be directing the project. ‘Leatherface’ stars Sam Strike as Jackson a.k.a. Leatherface, Stephen Dorff as Texas Ranger Hal Hartman and Lili Taylor playing Verna Sawyer, Jackson’s mom. The cast also includes Vanessa Grasse, Jessica Madsen, James Bloor and Sam Coleman.

‘Leatherface’ will tell the story of the character’s origin. It is the eighth film in the franchise which has grossed more than $235 million worldwide. All the films have been helmed by different directors with only Hooper directing the first two films which came out in 1974 and 1986. Are you excited for the prequel?
