The recently released sci-fi flick ‘Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets’ stars Cara Delevingne, Dane Dehaan, Ethan Hawke and Clive Owen. Directed by Luc Besson, the movie also stars singer-songwriter Rihanna, playing the character of Bubble. Luc recently shared that he had to persuade the producers to cast Rihanna for the role.

Explaining his conversation with the producers, the director shared, “I thought about her (Rihanna) from the beginning. And when we started the cast, I said, 'For Bubble, I'd love to contact Rihanna.' They (producers) said 'What's your second choice?' I said, 'Why?' They said, 'Luc, come on.' I said, 'Why not? Let's try it. Let's see'”.

Luc also shared that Rihanna was extremely professional while on set. “It was a normal relationship between an actor and an actress. When she got emotional she let me get in. She was perfect. The fact that she is the queen of soul is a handicap, in fact”, the director added. Luc was concerned whether Rihanna wanted to be in the film for the right reason or not and, she did.
