    The original story of Superman, Zack Snyder and Christopher Nolan's Man of Steel is the No. 1 this weekend with a huge opening recorded worldwide. The collections have been estimated as $196.7 million after it pocketed $71.6 million from its first 24 international markets. Man of Steel is a reason for envy for all its rivals.

    The soaring markets of Man of Steel are Mexico, Southeast Asia and the U.K. which is also the motherland of Superman, Henry Cavill. Man of Steel has become highly profitable for Warner Bros. and Legendary Pictures as they were looking to revive the Superman franchise. Over the weekend, Man of Steel’s collection in North America is estimated as $113.1 million, which means that this is the highest grosser of the month of June. After it gathered $12 million from special Walmart screenings on Thursday night, till Sunday domestic total raised up to $125.1 million.

    Man of Steel has also overpowered The Dark Knight by 40 percent and it is running almost at par with Iron Man 3, which released earlier this summer. The next weekend will see more business for the film as it will open in 26 international markets, including some major European ones. While the world was celebrating Father’s Day this weekend, Fast & Furious 6 managed to become the first runner up in the overseas box-office and so far it has done business of $636.8 million. It is followed by Will Smith’s After Earth, though it has not performed quite remarkably at the box-office. Then there are Now You See Me and Star Trek Into Darkness among the top five of this weekend.
