After Hollywood star Michael Douglas stormed the world with his comments that his throat cancer was a result of oral sex, now his spokesperson has come out with some other clarification, in a denial mode.

While talking to AFP his spokesman Allen Burry refuted all the reports, "Michael did not say cunnilingus was the cause of his cancer.” He said that though the Fatal Attraction star discussed the relation between oral cancers and oral sex, he never personalised it. To quote Allen, "He certainly discussed oral sex in the article, and oral sex is a suspected cause of certain oral cancers, as the doctors in the article did point out. But he did not say this was the specific cause of his personal cancer."

In an interview with a British newspaper Michael told on Sunday that his cancer was caused by the human papillomavirus (HPV). He told, "Without wanting to get too specific, this particular cancer is caused by HPV, which actually comes about from cunnilingus.” But Douglas’s spokesperson clarified that his comments were not personal, "This is not the cause of his cancer.” "Did he specifically say this was the cause of his cancer? No," he added. Meanwhile, a 30-second transcript of the interview has been released by The Guardian to prove Douglas’s comments. In 2010 the Oscar-winner actor was diagnosed with stage-4 cancer but to everyone’s relief he was completely cured by radiations and chemotherapy.
