Upcoming movie Antman, starring Paul Rudd, will have Michael Douglas playing a superhero for the first time as “Hank Pym”. The Basic Instinct star is really eager for the role and said, “I'm excited to be a part of it! I was given a whole bunch of comics to see and understand, and still I didn't realize how important Hank Pym was to Antman and The Avengers”. He will be acting alongside Evangeline Lily and Judy Greer.

On being asked about the new things he would like to try, Michael revealed, “Well I hadn't done any green-screen pictures. These guys are impressive. It's a fascinating process. I got to watch the different units, the visual-effects and the macro unit in this particular case, dealing with this incredible angle from the Ant's point of view, which is just such a trip when you see it ... It's just mind blowing”.

The 70-year-old actor also shared a character description by saying that Hank Pym “has a sense of humor; he's got a slight tongue-in-cheek attitude and likes to test people a little bit". He added, "He's obviously a brilliant scientist but combined with that he has military-like training in weaponry. When we meet him, he is a retired, very wealthy scientist who had a very successful biotech company, from which he has been gradually removed by his protege, Darren Cross. Because of situations that exist, he is looking for a person that can take on his role and he picks a recent ex-convict, Scott Lang, and now he is going to teach him all the tricks of the trade of Ant-Man”. The movie is directed by Peyton Reed and will hit the theatres by July 2015.
