Michelle Dockery is in awe of Maggie Smith

Veteran British actor Maggie Smith has fans across all age groups. The Harry Potter star, however has a few from the industry as well. The Downton Abbey actor’s co-star, Michelle Dockery was clearly star struck on the first day of the show’s shoot.

“When I turned up at the read through for the series, I was running late and my only thought was ‘I am going to be late; Maggie is going to think I am a rubbish actor,” she says, adding, “She turned to me and said, ‘Oh hello darling’ and gave me a big kiss. At the end, she said, ‘Well done’.” Michelle further revealed that despite so many years in the film industry, Maggie is still grounded. “In front of an actor of her calibre, you do your best to be professional, but the moment we realised we could be naughty and misbehave with her, it was just delightful,” she says.
