Mockingjay Stays Strong, In The Heart Of The Sea Falls Short

Running on its fourth week, the last instalment in The Hunger Games franchise, Mockingjay Part 2, has claimed the top spot at the box office yet again. The movie raked in $11.3 million and seems to be going strong, though it had a weak start. Chris Hemsworth starrer In the Heart of the Sea had an opening weekend of $11 million. It fell short of what was expected as the movie was developed over a budget of $100 million.

Disney Pixar’s The Good Dinosaur was able to maintain its third position and grossed $10.4 million on its third week. The animated tale directed by Peter Sohn has collected $167 million worldwide. The Sylvester Stallone and Michael B. Jordan-starrer Creed also retains its fourth spot grossing $10.1 million. The movie is running on its third weekend and has pooled in $84 million.

The Michael Daugherty directorial Krampus managed to make the cut with its $8 million. The movie saw its second weekend and has now grossed $36 million. Being developed over a budget of just $15 million, the Krampus team would be quite satisfied with its success.
