Pamela Anderson’s Fight Against Hepatitis C

Known for her role in the series Baywatch, Pamela Anderson revealed back in 2002 that she was suffering from hepatitis C. She recently stated that the doctors have given her a new treatment that has given her new hope. The new drug regime is approved by the Food and Drug Administration and aims at removing the virus completely.

According to People magazine, the 48 year old actress said, “I've had Hep C for about 16 years. 16 years ago that was (presented to me) as a death sentence. I think it really worked on my self esteem. Even though I may have looked confident on the outside, I think it really was a dark cloud that lingered over me”.

She added that she has previously tried several other medications and now wants to go ahead with the new treatment. Pamela said, “I could be Hep C free within the month. I don't have any liver damage and I don't have any side effects. I'm living my life the way I want to but it could have eventually have caused me some problems and so it was a real blessing that I was able to get the medicine. I'm half way there”.
