    Pedro Pascal Joins Barry Jenkins’ ‘If Beale Street Could Talk’

    Actor Pedro Pascal has been approached to star in the drama ‘If Beale Street Could Talk’. Barry Jenkins will be at the helm of affairs for the project. The movie already stars Stephan James, Colman Domingo, Brian Tyree Henry, and Regina King.



    Barry adapted the movie from James Baldwin novel of the same name which came out in 1974. The story revolves around young engaged couple named Fonny and Tish. When Tish gets pregnant, Fonny is falsely accused of raping her. Tish then struggles to find evidence to prove that Fonny is innocent.



    The film will be jointly produced by Jenkins’ Pastel company, Brad Pitt’s Plan B, and Megan Ellison’s Annapurna Pictures. ‘If Beale Street Could Talk’ is Barry’s first movie after ‘Moonlight’ which released in 2016 and won the Oscar in the best picture category. On the work front, Pedro Pascal will next be seen in the sequel to The Equalizer opposite Denzel Washington. He was last seen in Matthew Vaughn's Kingsman sequel, The Golden Circle.
