Quentin Tarantino To Helm Star Trek Movie?
According to reports, Quentin Tarantino has pitched an idea to Paramount Pictures for Star Trek film. Paramount holds the right to the franchise. There are also reports that JJ Abrams will produce the flick.
Quentin has once expressed his desire of directing a James Bond film. If this comes to be true, then this will be the first time that he will be directing a franchise. Quentin is known for making movies that gallows humour, overly violent scenes, pop culture references and quirky soundtracks which is evident in his movies like Pulp Fiction, Django Unchained and Inglorious Basterds.
If Tarantino’s pitch is accepted, it would be interesting to see how science-fiction and space-opera elements of Star Trek are inter-mixed with the filmmaker’s distinctive style of filmmaking. The recent part of Star Trek released last year titled Star Trek Beyond. The movie starred Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, Zoë Saldana and others. Tarantino’s next directorial venture is a movie based on Manson murders. The film will star Margot Robbie as Sharon Tate and is slated to release on August 9, 2019.
