Rihanna Topped Digital Single’s Artist List

27-year-old R&B singer Rihanna has passed the 100 million digital singles mark, making her the first artist to do so. The list is created by considering the download sales and on-demand streams in the United States. Taylor Swift is number two on the list, followed by Katy Perry in third.

Cary Sherman, the chairman and CEO of Recording Industry Association of America stated, “She has not only surpassed RIAA's one-hundred million mark, but also is the first artist to do so. It's an historic feat and a testament to an extraordinary career”. In an Instagram post, Rihanna said, “Thank you God for fulfilling Your plans in my life.... All the Glory belongs to You!!!! HistoRIH!!!! First and only!!! God is great!!!”.

Known for her songs ‘We Found Love’, ‘Stay’ and ‘Only Girl’, Rihanna has won a total of eight Grammy awards. She also has seven studio albums. During the BET Awards, she released a trailer for her song ‘BBHMM’ which she directed.
