    Rock the Kasbah TV Spot Released

    The forthcoming film Rock the Kasbah has got a TV spot, released by Open Road Films. The movie is directed by Barry Levinson and will focus on a has-been rock manager who discovers a beautiful voice in war-torn Kabul. The short TV spot shows the cast involved in the film and reveals a little portion of the plot.


    The rock manager Richie Lanz, played by Bill Murray hears a young Pashtun teenager sing and decides to make her the “Afghan Star”. Being recently dumped by his previous client, played by Zooey Deschanel, Richie is desperate to get back into the industry. With the help of a hooker, a couple of war profiteers and a hair-trigger mercenary, Richie attempts to bring the young singer under the spot light.


    The script for the movie is written by Mitch Glazer and will hit theatres on October 23. Along with Bill and Zooey, the cast includes Bruce Willis, Kate Hudson, Taylor Kinney, Scott Caan and Leem Lubany. The movie is produced by Steve Bing, Bill Block, Ethan Smith and Jacob Pechenik.
