Star Wars franchise fans certainly seem to be drawn towards the spinoff in the epic Universe, ‘Rogue One: A Star Wars Story’. While there were a lot of people finding faults in the film, the box office earnings have not taken a hit. The movie amassed $49 million domestically over its third weekend, sending its worldwide earnings to $790 million. The movie, directed by Gareth Edwards, stars Felicity Jones as the lead.

Universal’s animated flick ‘Sing’ brought in $42 million over its second weekend. The Garth Jennings directorial has characters voiced by Matthew McConaughey, Reese Witherspoon, Seth MacFarlane, Scarlett Johansson and Taron Egerton. Worldwide, ‘Sing’ has brought in $277 million which is quite an achievement since the project was developed over a budget of $75 million. Chris Pratt and Jennifer Lawrence’s ‘Passengers’ grossed $16 million over its second weekend domestically. Looks like a slow start for the Morten Tyldum directorial.

‘Moana’ still holds a spot in the top five list after six weeks. The movie has now crossed $400 million worldwide with its $10 million weekend. John Hamburg’s ‘Why Him?’ earned $10.6 million over its second weekend. The cast includes Zoey Deutch, James Franco and Bryan Cranston and has earned $51 million worldwide.
