Sony Pictures mounts Thomas Middleditch and Nina Dobrev for ‘The Final Girls’

Canadian actors Thomas Middleditch and Nina Dobrev are roped in by Sony Pictures for its horror-comedy ‘The Final Girls’. The flick to be directed by Todd Strauss-Schulson, focuses a girl, who gets transported into an iconic 80s’ horror movie, along with her friends and that film casts the girl’s deceased mother.

Adam DeVine and Alexander Ludwig also joining the cast and accompany Malin Akerman and Taissa Farmiga. Taissa is playing the girl and Alexander, his love interest. Malin is Taissa’s long dead mother, while Middleditch is a film geek in it. Devine is portraying 80s’ teen seducer. Mark Fortin and Joshua John Miller have written the script and the movie will be financially backed by Michael London and Janice Williams. The film’s releasing date is uncertain yet but its filming will commence next week.
