For quite some time, the industry has been wondering whether or not Henry Cavill will reprise his role as Superman in a standalone film. Now, the actor’s manager, Dany Garcia, has confirmed that a standalone sequel to the 2013 film ‘Man of Steel’ is in the works. Great news for Superman fans!

Cavill’s manager states that the actor is “beginning to expand” the Superman world and is in development for the standalone sequel. The Immortals actor wore the red cape this year in ‘Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice’ which, like ‘Man of Steele’, did very well at the box office. Dawn of Justice showed the death of Superman but ended with a subtle teaser of his return.

Besides Dawn of Justice, Cavill was last seen in ‘The Man from U.N.C.L.E.’ which was directed by Guy Ritchie. While he has several movies in his kitty, he is most famous for his portrayal of the Kryptonian. Man of Steel was Cavill’s first outing as Superman and since then, he has become the perfect actor for the hero. The news of a sequel to the 2013 film is sure to rile up the fans who have been waiting for a long time to see him in a standalone film.
