    The release date for the next installment in the Star Trek franchise, Star Trek: Beyond has been pushed from July 8 to July 22 next year. It will be releasing alongside Warner Bros.’ King Arthur and Fox’s animated Ice Age: Collision Course on July 22. The science fiction release will be the 50-year anniversary of the TV series that aired on September 8, 1966.

    Star Trek: Beyond will be the third film in the rebooted series and the thirteenth film in the Star Trek franchise. The details about the plot have not been released yet. The movie will be directed by Justin Lin who was responsible for the third, fourth, fifth and sixth parts of the Fast and Furious franchise.

    The sequel to the 2013 film Star Trek Into Darkness will bring back Chris Pine as James T. Kirk and Zachary Quinto as Spock. The cast will include Idris Elba, Zoe Saldana, Simon Pegg, Anton Yelchin, Karl Urban and Sofia Boutella.
