With ‘The Late Show with Stephen Colbert’ airing on September 8, Stephen surprised everyone by hosting the public access TV show, Only in Monroe. The even bigger surprise was that he interviewed the one and only ‘Slim Shady’, Eminem. The interview took place on July 1.

Stephen Colbert is known for his satirical approach to situations. His show “The Colbert Report” ended last year in December. The interview, whether to brush up his skills or to show he’s still got it, was a treat for the viewers. In the beginning of the show, Stephen says, “Since my last show ended in December, I’ve been itching to host a talk show again but my new theater’s not ready yet, so I decided to head over to Monroe, Michigan, look around, and give it a Michigander”. Around half way through the show he introduced Marshall Mathers (Eminem).

Stephen asked him about his musical influences and if Bob Seger was one of them. “Bob Seger's great, yeah”, Eminem replied. Another question that came up was, “Are you more political or more booty rhymes?” and Eminem’s answer was, “In the middle? Right in the crack, probably”. At one point Eminem said he couldn’t make out if Stephen was joking or being serious. The interview lasted for 20 minutes.
