Steve Carell is set to star in the big screen adaptation of Jeff Malmberg’s documentary film Marwencol, reported by TheWrap. The movie will be helmed by Cast Away and The Polar Express director Robert Zemeckis. Steve Carell will follow up his stellar performance in Foxcatcher, for which he got an Oscar nomination.

Marwencol focuses upon the life story of Mark Hogancamp. Mark develops a severe case of amnesia after being the victim of an assault. Due to his sickness, he is unable to remember anything about his life, prior to the attack. In an attempt for recovery, Mark starts building a miniature model of a World War 2-era Belgian village called Marwencol. Mark fills Marwencol with tiny dolls, which have their own stories to tell.

The movie will be produced by Robert Zemeckis via ImageMovers along with Jeff Malmberg as the executive producer. The script for the film has been written by Caroline Thompson. The director-producer is currently busy with the filming of The Walk, while Carell is busy shooting for his upcoming film The Big Short.
