Taylor Swift’s Fastest Selling Album '1989'

After more than a decade, Taylor Swift’s latest album ‘1989’ has become the fastest selling album. According to Nielsen Music, the album has sold more than five million copies since its launch, 36 weeks ago. Back in 2004, Usher’s ‘Confessions’ album reached the five million mark in 19 weeks.

As stated by Billboard, Adele’s album titled ‘21’ sold five million copies in 42 weeks. Till date, 11.1 million copies of Adele’s album have been sold. Along with the ‘fastest selling album’ title, Taylor Swift has also received ‘fastest video to top 1 billion views’ on Vevo, for her single ‘Blank Space’.

1989 features songs like ‘Shake It Off’, released in 2014, after which ‘Blank Space’, ‘Style’ and ‘Bad Blood’ were released. These four songs have kept the album at its current standing. The album has been around for almost a whole year now. Taylor is also known for her songs ‘Love Story’ and ‘Fifteen’, which were released back in 2008.
