Tessa Thompson, known for her role in ‘Creed’ and ‘Selma’, will be joining the cast of ‘Thor: Ragnarok’. Deadline has also stated that she will play Chris Hemsworth’s love interest and the female lead. This seems kind of weird as Thor has shared screen space with Natalie Portman as his love interest in the previous two films but, according to THR, the 34-year-old actress will not be part of the cast this time.

It is unclear if Tessa will play Dr. Jane Foster (previously essayed by Natalie) or someone else but speculations suggest that she will portray Valkyrie or Amora the Enchantress. Interestingly, Tessa and Natalie will be seen together in ‘Annihilation’ which will be directed by Alex Garland. With the role of Tessa still uncertain, ‘Thor: Ragnarok’ will certainly bring back Tom Hiddleston as Loki, Mark Ruffalo as The Hulk, Jaimie Alexander as Sif and Anthony Hopkins as Odin.

The role of the antagonist will be played by Cate Blanchett. The movie will be directed by Taika Waititi and will hit the screens on November 3, 2017. ‘Thor: Ragnarok’ will be the last part in the trilogy started by the 2011 film ‘Thor’.
