Todd Fisher Says Sister Carrie Will Appear In Star Wars: Episode IX

Last year took away several beloved celebrities including our very own Princess Leia, Carrie Fisher. After her passing, it was being speculated that she would be recreated for Star Wars: Episode IX. Back in January, Disney came out with an official statement saying that they have no plans of digitally recreating Carrie in her iconic role. Now, according to The New York Daily News, Carrie’s brother Todd and her daughter Billie Lourd have shared that Carrie will appear in Episode IX.

Present at the TCM Film Festival in Los Angeles, Todd shared, “Both of us were like, ‘Yes, how do you take her out of it?’ And the answer is you don’t”. He added, “She’s as much a part of it as anything and I think her presence now is even more powerful than it was, like Obi Wan — when the saber cuts him down he becomes more powerful. I feel like that’s what’s happened with Carrie. I think the legacy should continue”.

Todd went on to say that the people deserve to have their Princess Leia Organa in the franchise they have loved for so long. It is being speculated that the studios might use already existing footage of Carrie for the next episode. Before her death, Carrie had already shot for her role in the upcoming ‘Star Wars: The Last Jedi’.
