    Tom Cruise may find his Man from U.N.C.L.E.’s female lead in Alicia Vikander

    The upcoming release by Warner Bros.’ Man From U.N.C.L.E., starring Tom Cruise and Armie Hammer, is in the last stage of roping in their female lead, as talks are on with the rising Swedish actressAlicia Vikander.

    The movie adaptation ofthe classic 1960s TV series, to be helmed by Guy Ritchie, will see Cruise as American agent Napoleon Solo and Hammer as Soviet agent Illya Kuryakin. If the deal is finalised Vikander will play a British agent in the film, a whole new creation for the big-screen adaptation.

    The project will be jointly produced by Lionel Wigram and John Davis. Vikander, who appeared with Keira Knightley in Anna Karenina, will also appear in Legendary’s fantasy The Seventh Son. She recently wrapped up the shooting for DreamWorks' Wikileaks movie The Fifth Estate.
