Tom Cruise to work in Jack Reacher sequel with Paramount Pictures

Hollywood heartthrob Tom Cruise is on his way to reunite with Paramount Pictures and Skydance Prods. in order to develop Jack Reacher’s sequel, adapting Lee Child’s novel series.

Based on Never Go Back, the sequel will see Reacher heading towards the Virginia headquarters of his old military unit and gets handcuffed for a 16-year-old crime which he can’t recall. This 18th book in the series was published in September. The studio is looking for a writer to adapt the novel and the director is also not finalised yet. Christopher McQuarrie directed and scripted Jack Reacher and the film starred Cruise, Rosamund Pike, Richard Jenkins and others. The thriller was released on December 21 last year and it grossed $216 million worldwide.
