CBS has cancelled the hit show Under the Dome and said that series will end with the third season. The show focuses on a small town that has been sealed off by a huge transparent dome. The show started in 2013 and was well appreciated by the audience.

Under the Dome is based on the novel by Stephen King. The residents of the town try to figure out why they were surrounded by the dome and what is their purpose in it. The series is created by Brian K. Vaughan and includes several writers like Adam Stein, Peter Calloway, Andres Fischer-Centeno, Caitlin Parrish and Alexandra McNally, among others. The last episode of the series is written by Neal Baer and Tim Schlattmann.

The final episode will be aired on September 10 at 10 p.m. Nina Tassler, Chair of CBS Entertainment stated, “Two years ago, ‘Under the Dome’ broke new ground in the summer and became an instant hit on CBS, as well as with viewers around the world. Dome’s’ event storytelling and multiplatform business model paved the way for more original summer programming with the successful rollouts of ‘Extant’ and ‘Zoo.’ We’re excited to present the final chapter in Chester’s Mill as the story comes full circle, with the dome coming down as dramatically as it went up”.
