Warner Bros. Entertainment Inc. picks rights for The Intern, ropes in Reese Witherspoon and Robert De Niro

Warner Bros. Entertainment Inc. has taken worldwide rights of The Intern. The company has roped in Reese Witherspoon and Robert De Niro to star in the film. Filmmaker Nancy Meyers will be directing the project. The project was in news from past few days since Lotus announced that it will be selling international rights of it.

Actress Witherspoon will enact the role of an owner of an internet company who assigns an intern who's a retiree (played by De Niro). He then becomes a valuable resource for the firm and the two develop a relationship between themselves. The film will appear on screen under the direction of Nancy as stated and it will be he first project since 2009.
