    It was a night of bidding war at the Toronto Film Festival which ended on a satisfying note. The deal for the musical film Can a Song Save Your Life?, starring Keira Knightley and Adam Levine, has gone to The Weinstein Co. as a source has confirmed the latest developments to TheWrap.

    The filmmakers acquired a $7 million minimum guarantee for U.S. rights, as per their requirements, with an addition of $20 million commitment for marketing costs. Writer-director John Carney’s film, Can a Song Save Your Life?, was premiered at the fest on Saturday night and immediately the bidding started for its rights. Weinstein Co. defeated companies like CBS Films, Summit/Lionsgate and Fox Searchlight which were also vying for the deal.
