Will Claire Foy Be A New Hacker In The 'Girl With the Dragon Tattoo' Sequel?

Claire Foy has been approached by Sony to star in the film adaptation of ‘The Girl in the Spider’s Web’. It has believed that the studio narrowed the list down to two finalists, Foy and Felicity Jones, but the role went to Foy. She is currently seen as Queen Elizabeth in Netflix’s ‘The Crown’.

‘The Girl in the spider’s Web’ is David Lagercrantz’s 2015 novel, the fourth novel of the franchise started by a Swedish writer Stieg Larsson with ‘The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo’. Later Larsson also wrote two subsequent novels ‘The Girl Who Played With Fire’ and ‘The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet’s Nest’. After his death in 2004, Lagercrantz took over the series in 2015.

If the actress agrees she would play the role of hacker Lisbeth Salander. Noomi Rapace played the role in the Swedish-language trilogy in 2009, while Rooney Mara played the role in 2011's The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. Fede Alvarez who directed 'Don't Breathe' will helm the movie. The film will start rolling in September. The flick is expected to release in October 19, 2018.
