Held long enough in the pipeline, project Daddy’s Home has thrown us yet another surprise. Buzz is that actor Mark Wahlberg and Will Ferrell have been finalised to share screen space in Daddy’s home.

The film that was scheduled to begin much earlier had actor Vince Vaughn to act opposite Ferrell. The Italian Job actor has now reportedly replaced him. Even the direction which was previously at the helm of filmmaker Etan Cohen is now looking to go into the hands of either Sean Anders or John Morris.

After Paramount’s considerate efforts to bring together Mark and Ferrell who were last seen together in The Other Guys, they are all in readiness to start the project soon. The film was originally scripted by  Brian Burns, Adam McKay and Chris Henchy with Cohen. The brief plot of Daddy’s home sees "Ferrell as a mild-mannered radio executive who strives to become the best stepdad ever to his wife’s two children. Complications ensue when their freewheeling, freeloading real father (Wahlberg) arrives, forcing the stepdad to compete for the affection of the kids”.
