Will Ferrell to star in ‘The House’

‘Anchorman’ star Will Ferrell is set to star in and produce the comedy ‘The House,’ with a script from ‘Neighbors’ writers Andrew J. Cohen and Brendan O’Brian, according to the reports. Ferrell will play a husband who starts an illegal casino in his basement to earn money for his daughter’s college fund.

The script follows a married couple (Ferrell will play the husband) who lose their daughter’s college fund. In order to earn back the cash, they team up with their neighbors to start an illegal casino in their basement. Andrew J. Cohen will direct the film in his feature directorial debut with production likely to kick off in August. Will Ferrell is producing with his Gary Sanchez Production partner Adam McKay along with Good Universe. Will Ferrell will next be seen in ‘Get Hard’ alongside Kevin Hart, which hits theaters March 27. ‘The House’ comes to theaters in 2016.
