Advance bookings and star-studded premiere shows along with heavy impact created from the social media promotions, hopes are bright for the 3D romantic drama, The Great Gatsby.

    But its chances to defeat Iron Man 3 are not so predictable, as of now. As the estimates have been projected, The Great Gatsby is expected to make $40 million through its opening and "'Gatsby' should play well with couples,” as predicted by BoxOffice.com editor-in-chief Phil Contrino while talking to The Wrap. More predictions reveal, “Women will be drawn by the romance and costumes and Leo. And enough guys grew up with the book that they’ll be game to come along. This is a date-night movie.”

Through Wednesday, Iron Man 3 has already earned a massive $768 million worldwide and supposedly it would hit $900 million by Sunday.
