Woody Allen’s Blue Jasmine won’t be released in India
Filmmaker Woody Allen has refused to release his next offering, Blue Jasmine in India. The director has decided to do so when he came to know that anti-tobacco adverts will be given in the smoking sequences of his flick. The movie has two smoking scenes that would have required scrolling texts; warning viewers about the harms of tobacco use.
The Indian law states; it is obligatory for the makers of the flicks to insert health warnings in their respective films if there’s any scene in there, that showcases usage of tobacco in any form. It is also being advised to play anti-smoking ads before every movie to make the viewers more aware about it. This has not amused Woody and resulted in stopping him to release his flick in India.
