    Sandalwood star Sanchari Vijay did dream of an award while shooting for Naanu Avanalla, Avalu, but when he came to know that he would have to compete with stalwarts like Mammootty, Shahid Kapoor and Aamir Khan, Vijay chose to forget it. Hence, when his name was called out at a press conference amidst much speculation, Vijay felt a jolt. “I don’t know how to react to this word ‘congrats!’ I am shocked and surprised,” an enthralled Vijay told media.

    Directed by B.S. Lingadevaru, the Vijay-starrer film happens to be a docu-drama based on the book I Am Vidya: A Transgender’s Journey which deals with a transgender’s life through a lot of pain and tremendous insecurity. “I visited many places where transgender’s live. More importantly, many transgender’s on the cast and crew helped me give depth to the character,” Vijay added, thanking a lot of people for his success.
