    Director Karthik Saragur Talks About 'Jeerjimbe'

    The buzz around the Sandalwood flick ‘Jeerjimbe’ is at its top most level. Although, the movie has not been released yet. But the buzz about the movie has reached to the International film festival platform.The movie is helmed by Karthik Saragur. 



    Moreover, the movie has also won a state award. ‘Jeerjimbe’ is also one of the most awaited movies of this year. Regarding the movie, the filmmaker was quoted as saying, “the movie is named after the 'jewel beetle' — at the ripe age, the beetle's wings are cut and the wings are used to make ornaments and jewels, while the beetle is allowed to die”.



    The director further added, “Indian culture has been evolving and changing in urban areas, but hasn't changed much in the rural segment. It gets girls as young as 13-15 years married off, depriving them of the opportunity to do things on their own, get educated and contribute to society. The attempt through this film is to showcase the struggle of a girl coming of age”.
