    I Miss The Charm Of Storytelling On Indian Television: Jayati Bhatia

    Television actress Jayati Bhatia, who is currently playing the role of Nirmala Bhardwaj a.k.a. Mataji in Sasural Simar Ka was recently part of a theatre play Salaam, Noni Appa in Bengaluru. Her performance as Binni was much-appreciated in the play by the theatre lovers. In an interview, she revealed that she loves performing in the city.

    The actress said, “I have performed earlier at Ranga Shankara and Chowdiah Memorial Hall, and each time the experience has been overwhelming for me. People in Bengaluru understand and appreciate theatre, and that's quite rewarding for us artistes”. She further added, “I miss the charm of storytelling on Indian television”.

    She also revealed that she mostly miss the scripts of the bygone era. Talking about her current stint in Sasural Simar Ka, she said that she is enjoying the different layers of her character as 'Mataji'. The actress also revealed that she used to be a big fan of the short-story series called the Star Bestsellers.
