Sharmiela Mandre is considered as one of the most promising actresses of the South entertainment industry. The actress ventured into acting career through the Kannada film Sajni in 2007. The flick fetched her Hello Gandhinagar Award for Best Debut. In a recent interview with Bangalore Times, the actress disclosed her favourite type of movies and genre that she likes.

She said, “It has been a while since I made an appearance on the Kannada film screen, my last film was Mumtaz, and the best part about this new film is the chills and thrills and that excites me as a performer and as a viewer. I love horror films, it is my favourite genre, and to be a part of one is quite like a dream come true. I do enjoy being part of commercial films, but as an actor you come to a point when you say — enough of this running around trees and looking glamourous”.

The actress will be next seen in upcoming neo noir horror film, Aake. While talking about the flick, the actress said that she got scared while watching it. Helmed by K. M. Chaitanya, the movie is an official remake of 2015 Tamil movie Maya.
