Upendra to Star in Kalpana 2

After the success of ‘Kanchana 2’ in Kollywood, ‘Kalpana 2’ will be made for the Kannada audience and Upendra will be seen in the lead role. The success of ‘Kanchana’ in Tamil cinema influenced late director Rama Narayanan to remake the film in Kannada. He made ‘Kalpana’, starring the Uppi 2 star, which turned out to be a super hit. 

‘Kanchana 2’ is a successful horror-comedy which was directed, scripted and enacted by Raghava Lawerence. The film will be helmed by Naganna, who was appreciated for ‘Krantiveera Sangolli Rayanna’. The director will collaborate with Upendra for the fifth time. They have previously worked together in ‘Kutumba’, ‘Gokarna’, ‘Gowramma’ and ‘Dubai Babu’.

Shruti, Lakshmi Rai, Umashri and Saikumar will be seen along Upendra in the Kannada sequel. The actors were part of the prequel too. Shilpa Srinivas, who produced ‘Upendra’, marks her return as a producer with this film. The film will go on the floors in September 2015. Now, it is to be seen whether Upendra will be able to repeat the success of ‘Kalpana’ or not.
