Upendra Talks about Uppi 2, Buguri Clash

It came as a shock to the audiences when it was announced that Uppi 2 and Ganesh starrer Buguri are releasing on the same date i.e. august 14. It was said that Upendra has decided to release the film on his birthday in September. But it seems these were just rumours.

Upendra told TOI, “It is nobody's mistake but the case of mistaken belief. For nearly two months we have been working towards releasing the film on August 14. We were firm on the date. But there were speculation that I would release the film on my birthday on September 18. Many people believed it. Even when I said the film was releasing on August 14, some were not ready to believe it. I will apologize if my mistake caused this problem. But the reality is both of us stuck with the date and could do nothing”.

He continues, “They had done publicity using the date and I had sold the business for release on that date. It was like `man proposes God disposes,' and it is nobody's mistake. Two or three good films have released on the same day and succeeded and this will not be a problem to either of us”.
