Ranjith Looking For Malayali Actress

Malayalam filmmaker Ranjith’s upcoming film Leela has been making headlines from quite some time. While Mammootty was earlier rumoured to be playing the lead role, now Biju Menon has bagged the same role. It is said that the director is now looking for theatre actors to play other prominent roles in the film.

“That was the case in my previous film Palerimanikyam as well. As for the actress, we are looking for someone from the Malayalam industry itself. The female character is of prime importance in the story”, Ranjith said in a statement.

The script of the flick has been penned by Unni R. The film is expected to go on floors on December 24. Leela is reportedly a story that portrays the relationship between an orphaned girl name Leela and character Kuttiyappan.
