Venkatesh To Star In The Telugu Remake Of The Great Father

Mammootty starrer The Great Father is all set to be remade in Telugu. The Malayalam film helmed by debutant director Haneef Adeni released in March this year. The film showed Mammootty playing the role of David Ninan, who seeks to take revenge from the rapist of his 10-year-old daughter.

According to reports, Telugu actor Venkatesh will star in the film. Reportedly, two directors are in talks to direct the project, however the names are unknown. The makers will start shooting the movie soon.

Mammootty is awaiting the release of his upcoming film Masterpiece which will release in December. Directed by Ajai Vasudev, the action thriller will see the actor playing the role of a college professor. Apart from Mammootty, the film also stars Varalaxmi Sarathkumar, Unni Mukundan, Maqbool Salmaan, Santhosh Pandit and Mahima Nambiar. He has wrapped up shooting of Parole and Uncle. He will now start working on Sethu's debut directorial titled Oru Kuttanadan Blog.
