Wednesday’s episode opened with Vikas Gupta showing a new face to Bigg Boss fans. Vikas, who was sent to the jail (kaal kothari) for attacking Puneesh, seemed to have found a new strategy to stay in the game. He started manipulating the housemates. He called Luv Tyagi and asked him to stay in the game. He said, “Mujhe pata hai aap ya Puneesh me se koi ek jaega. To aap dramatics karo, perform karo. Aap rahoge to wo jaega aur mai chahta hu wo jaae.”Vikas also called upon Shilpa and thanked her for tea. He also told her that he doesn’t want to fight with her. Though Shilpa agreed that she didn’t want to fight either, she said she had no choice but to go by her instincts.Later, Puneesh and Luv got into an ugly fight. When Akash came near the jail, Vikas asked what happened. When Akash told him, Vikas said, “Captain ki izzat rakhni chahiye na, tum log roko usko.” Looks like Bigg Boss has a competitor - a housemate (Vikas) is already enjoying making others fight inside the house.Vikas also advised Bandgi Kalra to stay away from Puneesh. “Mujhe kisi ne bataya apne usko aise hug kiya. Mai bata raha hu aap mat kiya karo. Mujhe kuch pata hai tabhi bol raha hun. Don’t get touchy with him,” Vikas told Bandgi.Later, Arshi Khan was talking to the camera and started complaining about Hina Khan. “Wo pagal aurat din bhar ‘Arshi Arshi’ karti rehti hai. Hina Khan ne Priyank ko bhaga diya, Hina ka seedha target hai Vikas Gupta, usko hum nahi jane dengeBefore the episode ended, Jyoti Kumari and Arshi also joined Vikas in the jail.

For Bollywood, the Diwali season is a guarantee of success. Most of the films released around Diwali in recent years have met with commercial success. The trend more or less continued even if two big ticket films released together.Once again, two highly publicised films are clashing at the box office this year. While Aamir Khan’s Secret Superstar is releasing on October 19, Ajay Devgn’s Golmaal Again will hit the screens the next day.The reviews of Secret Superstar are already out and it seems the film will catch the audience’s fancy on its first day. The makers of Golmaal Again will wait till October 20 to figure out the audience’s mood.In the meantime, we have tried to compare the pre-release buzz of both the films. Of course, Secret Superstar has an edge here because its reviews are already out and people are reading them through various channels, but that alone isn’t the reason for its popularity.Actually, we compared the trending data of both the films and by the afternoon of October 18, Secret Superstar appeared ahead of Golmaal Again. These screenshots were taken at 3:45 PM on Wednesday.Graph 1 (All Google trends screenshots)In this, we compared the search interest in both the films since the last seven days. The blue line represents Secret Superstar and the red line represents Golmaal Again. We then broke it down to the last one day. Secret Superstar was still ahead of Golmaal Again.Graph no 2Interestingly, Secret Superstar is one of the top searches in Nepal. That shows how Aamir Khan’s brand image influences a film’s business in the key overseas markets. That way, Secret Superstar is likely to work well in sizeable markets like Nepal and UAE.Graph no 3Graph no 4Graph no 5 and 6These two graphs show how piracy has become a big problem for Bollywood films. The first related query on Golmaal Again is ‘Golmaal Again download’. The makers need to take care of the rogue cinema halls.Big or small, piracy can hamper any film’s business.Graph no 7This is the expected viewing pattern of the audience throughout India. You can see how Golmaal Again (Red) dominates the central India, while Secret Superstar is likely to gain big in rest of India (Blue). However, it’s not easy to write off Golmaal Again just now, because it’s a set franchise with a dedicated audience base. Over the years, all Golmaal films have made good money at the box office. While Golmaal Fun Unlimited (2006) earned approximately Rs 30 crore, the second film in the series, Golmaal Returns, registered a business of Rs 51 crore. Golmaal 3 hit the screens in 2010 and earned more than Rs 108 crore. Also, Golmaal Again has been allotted more screens than Secret Superstar to begin with and that will also make a difference in their total collection. Both the films have different target audiences and that may make a difference as well. Bollywood doesn’t have a history of many successful children films. On the other hand, Golmaal may catch the festive flavour.A clear picture will emerge only after a week of the release of these films.

The artwork was made as a tribute to her character in upcoming film Padmavati.Rangoli artist Karan K made the massive design with colours on the floor of mall in Surat. It took him over 48 hours to complete the artwork. Bollywood films that are big hits at the box office get a major chunk of praise from the audiences particularly for the stars as it is believed and it's rather true that the actors are the face of the film. But as we see in our daily lives, if, by chance and as is the case with a majority of Bollywood films, the particular film flops, the passing the buck trend starts. From directly lambasting the people associated with the film or attacking under a veil of diplomatically chosen words, the actors, directors, producers and their relatives often get indulged in a war of words that only generates major headlines for next few weeks but it hardly brings the audiences to the theatres. We see celebrities talking about standing up and taking responsibility but hardly anyone does that in real life. Rather the baton of failure is shoved into the hands of next person in the circle and keeps coming back over and over. Here are 9 instances when Bollywood actors or their friends/parents/relatives blamed the directors or other reasons for their film's failure:Rishi Kapoor- The actor went on his now infamous rant against 2 prominent directors in Bollywood,Anurag Kashyap, and Anurag Basu. He blamed them for the failure of Ranbir's films and compared them to monkeys who got excited about the big budget and ended up spoiling the film.Ajay Devgn- He recently expressed his disappointment over the failure of Baadshaho (it did average business but was expected to become a big hit) as it was a big-budget film and he didn't like the abrupt ending. He blamed it on Milan Luthria who had the last call as he was the director and said that he didn't include some important scenes in the 2nd half.Dilwale- Apparently, it's said that both SRK and Rohit Shetty blamed each other for the Dilwale debacle. Rohit didn't want the clash with Bajirao Mastani and SRK thought Rohit didn't work hard enough on the film. The film was slaughtered by SLB's Bajirao at the box-office in India.Hrithik Roshan- He was unhappy with how the film panned out to be in the end. He was also unhappy with the VFX and blamed the failure on poor graphics and sent some aggressive texts to the director. His father Rakesh Roshan supported him and also blasted Ashutosh Gowariker.Shahid Kapoor- The actor was very unhappy after the disaster that Shaandar became and blamed the failure on director Vikas Bahl who also wrote the story of the film. He also said he only did the film because he was friends with one of the 4 heads of Phantom films, Madhu Mentena. So that makes it 2 reasons.Humshakals- Bipasha Basu refused to promote the film because she didn't agree with the final cut. Her role was cut and many of the important scenes were not in the film, she disowned the film from the start and vowed to never work with Sajid Khan again. A couple of years later Saif Ali Khan also disowned the film, calling it a mistake and blamed Sajid Khan. Sajid, in turn, said that director is the captain of the ship and its the responsibility of everyone.Amitabh Bachchan- He blamed the film's failure on the poor editing and telling that its the director's call on the final cut. The film was directed by Mani Ratnam and was a huge flop.Imran Khan- He said in an interview that he never got his due in the industry as when his films were hits everybody got credit and when his films flopped, he was made the scapegoat, especially after the failure of Once Upon A Time in Mumbai Dobara. He said that a jooton ki maala was laid on him after the film's failure. He believes that a film is a director's vision and the whole crew should take responsibility.

Watching big Bollywood films on television is becoming pretty old school since they are so widely available on the internet. But besides being a good old memory like watching Suryavansham on TV, satellite right for the big Bollywood films are sold for millions before they hit the theatres. That said, films are running a whole big race for TRPs on TV as they do for box office collections. Also See:8 Bollywood Films Of 2017 We Were Too Harsh OnHere is what the TV releases of 2017 and what their impressions look like and which movie was loved by the audiences more on TV.Badrinath Ki Dulhaniya- The Varun Dhwan and Alia Bhatt starrer film is one of the only few 100 crore grossers this year and is also the 10th most viewed movie this year on TV.Raees -Shah Rukh Khan's Raees also crossed the 100 crore mark and also had a great run on TV.Commando 2 -The film bombed at the box office big time but was a surprise hit on television where it beat Shah Rukh Khan to land on the 8th most viewed film on TV this year.Shivaay- The crawled to cross 100 crores at the box office after it released on Diwali 2016. The visual treat was much enjoyed by the audiences on TV though.M.S.Dhoni :The Untold Story -Watching Dhoni's incredible journey to the top is something a cricket fan can do over and over again and the TV views of the 2016 film reflect just that.Kaabil- Hrithik Roshan's Kaabil may have had to face the brunt of its clash with Raees at the box office, but on TV it was a much bigger hit.Tubelight -The film did not shine as bright as Salman Khan may have expected but the TV premiere of the film sure made up for the lag it faced on TV with a sprawling viewership.Jolly LLB 2 -Akshay Kumar's courtroom drama was a box office hit and was as much bigger when it aired on TV.Toilet Ek Prem Katha- A unique love story with a unique title starringAkshay Kumarand Bhoomi Pednekar the film broke the box office jinx when it released and broke many records on TV when it aired. Win-Win!Dangal -Aamir Khan's masterstroke that has not stopped creatingrecords at the box officeyet, was a phenomenon on TV as well. It was much ahead in viewership than any other film aired on TV this year.So while box office tells one story about the audience preferences, the TV viewership is just telling something else. Certain megaflops too made it big on TV while Dangal is the biggest winner in both places.
