9 Bollywood Actresses Whose Voices Were Dubbed For Their Films!
There are so many actors in Bollywood who have faced a problem with language, diction or just simply their tone while doing certain films. The directors in these cases have no second option but to turn to a dubbing artist! Mona Ghosh Shetty for one has been a dubbing artist who has lent her voice to many of Bollywood’s leading ladies. She has been the voice making their pretty faces sound dreamy!
Here’s a list of actresses from Bollywood whose voices had to be dubbed for films!
Katrina Kaif – Deserving a Smita Patil Award or not, the actress has come a long way to be able to manage saying her own lines and speaking at length in Hindi. Initially she had great difficulty in being able to manage a single line Hindi. Her voice for dubbed for several big projects she signed initially, like Maine Pyaar Kyun Kiya, Sarkar, and Humko Deewana Kar Gaye.
Sridevi – The south Indian beauty no doubt made it huge with her bollywood films. She only found her voice in films after Chandaani. Till then yester years actress Naaz mostly dubbed for her character. Her 1986 Akhree Rasta was dubbed by Rekha.
Nargis Fakri – She might have been narrowed down by Imtiaz Ali as the right face in Rockstar, but she sure came with a major Hindi difficulty. Her voice was dubbed for the project.
Rani Mukherjee – There seemed absolutely nothing wrong with her when she delivered dialogues on screen, but yet for Ghulam her character had to be dubbed.
Kajol – As shocking as this one is, but even her voice went mute for the film Dushman, and her voice was replaced by that of a professional dubbing artist! This happened because the actress had to shriek on top her voice that she couldn't speak any more!
Bipasha Basu – She turned to acting after her successful phase in the modeling world, but her voice it seems wasn’t yet ready to deliver dialogues as per the film requirements. Her voice was dubbed for films like, Raaz, Jism and Ajnabee.
Deepika Padukone – The popular actress found her debut opposite Shah Rukh Khan, but it was not her voice. A dubbing artist was involved in making her sound as graceful in Om Shanti Om.
Jacqueline Fernandez – The Sri Lankan beauty found success in Bollywood but has only recently been able to make her Hindi decent enough for dialogue delivery. A voice over artist dubbed for her in Murder 2 and Housefull 2.
Priety Zinta - Her character in Soldier was did not have her own voice. A dubbing artist had to dub for the atcress.
